Kota Kinabalu: Eight prison inmates were selected to meet with their families during the Jalinan Kasih Program organized by the Kota Kinabalu Central Prison (PPKK) at Kepayan Prison in conjunction with the recent Chinese New Year.

Deputy Director of Kota Kinabalu Central Prison, PP Jaini Ayong Bin Rajawa, said the program aims to strengthen family bonds by allowing them to meet face-to-face with their family members and celebrate the occasion with their families and prison staff.

“This program is part of a routine activity held during festive seasons to give the inmates the chance to meet their families. It not only strengthens family relationships but also fosters a sense of belonging among inmates and prison staff,” he said.

Read more Additionally, the prison administration is planning to hold another Jalinan Kasih Program in conjunction with the month of Ramadan.

While the official date has yet to be confirmed, the event is expected to take place on the third or fourth day of Ramadan.

With initiatives like this, the prison hopes that they can build stronger relationships with their families and reintegrate into the community after completing their sentences.
