
SANDAKAN: Sabah Electricity Sdn Bhd (SESB) is urged to provide a solution to the erratic electricity supply in the State.
Sandakan MP Vivian Wong said stable electricity supply is vital and a sudden interruption will have a big impact on people’s lives and business activities.
“With the current hot spell, electricity supply is necessary,” she said after meeting with the East Zone Manager of SESB Sandakan, Rahim Tahir and his team here, recently.
During the visit, she was informed that since 2019, the Pakatan Harapan government allocated funds to build another transmission and distribution line from the Segaliud substation as back-up transmission equipment which is expected to be completed next year.

Read more In addition, she was also informed that power generation system in the State is still able to meet with current needs, but there are also unwanted incidents whereby the power plant failed to generate enough power supply which cause the sudden power outages.
However, SESB plans to upgrade the power plant in stages to increase production capacity to handle emergency cases.
