MANILA, Philippines — Eman Bacosa has made it clear he will not step into the ring against his brother, Jimuel, citing family over rivalry.
In an interview with Boy Abunda, the son of boxing icon Manny Pacquiao said such a matchup would go against their father’s wishes and his own principles.
“He’s my brother, and nothing good will come out of that fight, win or lose,” Eman said. “Of course, dad doesn’t want that. I don’t want to hurt him.”
Eman currently holds an 8-1-1 professional record, while Jimuel is coming off his first pro victory earlier this month.
Despite their paths in boxing, Eman emphasized their bond over competition, ending with a heartfelt message: “I really love you, Kuya!”
