Kota Kinabalu: There is a need to intensify student forums in schools in order to prepare the young generation towards becoming high-calibre individuals and the country’s future leaders.
Industrial Development and Entrepreneurship Minister Phoong Jin Zhe said critical thinking skills and the ability to debate confidently must be mastered in order to become a leader of calibre.
“Undoubtedly, academic qualifications are still given attention but for the sake of one’s character development, students also need to be exposed to extracurricular activities and activities outside the classroom,” he said when officiating the Sabah State Level 2023 Student Forum competition at Tshung Tsin Sabah Secondary School, here, Thursday.
