Conor McGregor has now confirmed reports that he’ll be stepping back into the octagon this July.
The former two-division champion has been sidelined since suffering a leg break in his trilogy bout against Dustin Poirier back in July 2021.
Now, nearly five years later, he’s preparing for his return at SBG HQ in Dublin, Ireland.
Eoin Sheridan says McGregor is looking ‘sharp’ in the gym

Back in February, McGregor posted a clip of him sparring with 6ft 5in welterweight Eoin Sheridan.
Known as ‘The Sheriff’, Sheridan has four wins from four so far and will be hoping to add another at PFL Belfast next month.
He recently spoke with Bloody Elbow to discuss his upcoming fight, and during that chat, he gave some insight into how McGregor is looking ahead of his return.
“I’ve been training with Conor for years now,” said Sheridan.
“We’ve sparred in the past, and he’s always been a great help in my career.
“It’s good to see him back. It’s good to see him training hard. As always, it’s gonna be a major fight once he’s back.
“To be honest, he’s looking as sharp as ever in training. I’ve watched a few of his spars, and obviously, I’ve been in sparring with him.
You know, a UFC champion doesn’t forget how to fight. It doesn’t matter how long they’re out.
“He’s fit now, and he’s working hard so the next fight will be one to watch for sure. I can’t say too much about opponents but there is definitely talks that he will be returning in the summer so I look forward to seeing that.”
Eoin Sheridan isn’t your typical 4-0 up-and-comer
Eoin Sheridan could put himself on the fast track to a title shot at PFL Belfast on April 16.
A win over eighth-ranked Chris Mixan (7-1) would move him closer to joining the division’s top fighters.
Early in his MMA career, Sheridan has shown no fear in taking on tough challenges, a mindset that could see him climb quickly from prospect to contender.
“I’m going 5-0, God willing, in three weeks’ time,” he added.
“It’s not an ordinary 5-0. I’ve been fighting elite competition. I’ve never had an easy fight. The lads I’ve fought are very solid lads, and no one wanted to fight them either. That was the way my career went. I had to take on whoever was willing to take on me.
“It’s gonna show in all of my performances going forward. I already have some nice finishes, but expect more.
“Of course, I want the PFL gold.”
