Expanded 4PH brings land security to 8,100 families

THOUSANDS of informal settler families now legally own the land they have called home for years as the Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development (DHSUD) continues to expand the Enhanced Community Mortgage Program (ECMP) under the Expanded Pambansang Pabahay Para sa Pilipino (4PH) Program.

Implemented through the Social Housing Finance Corp. (SHFC), the government’s pro-poor housing initiative continues to provide land acquisition assistance to low-income communities.

The latest beneficiaries are more than 700 residents of the Plaridel Village CMP Homeowners’ Association in Barangay Plaridel, Santiago City, Isabela.

Plaridel Village became the 25th ECMP community to receive land acquisition support since the program was revived under the Expanded 4PH initiative last year.

The awarding ceremony was led by DHSUD Region 2 Director Marvin Feraren, SHFC North Luzon Vice President Jones Tomas, and local government officials.

Housing Secretary Jose Ramon Aliling said the government will continue expanding the program in line with the president’s directive to strengthen housing assistance for poor communities nationwide.
