Fair weather in PH except in Northern Luzon —Pagasa

MANILA, Philippines — The Philippines will have generally fair weather on Friday, except in some parts of Northern Luzon due to the prevailing southwest monsoon, or habagat, according to the state weather bureau Pagasa (Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration).

In its 5 a.m. weather bulletin, Pagasa forecaster Obet Badrina said that parts of Ilocos Sur, Ilocos Norte, Cagayan, Abra, Apayao, and Batanes will experience cloudy skies due to habagat, and other parts of the country could expect localized rain showers and thunderstorms.

Badrina said that fair weather could be expected until Saturday.

Most parts of the country could expect fair weather except in Mindanao, where it will be warmer.

Meanwhile, Badrina said the weather bureau is monitoring three tropical cyclones. One is expected to enter the Philippine Area of Responsibility by next week, which could enhance habagat and bring rains over the archipelago.
