MANILA, Philippines — June Mar Fajardo delivered the biggest blows in a save-his-best-for-last effort to power San Miguel Beer to back-to-back PBA Season 50 Philippine Cup championship via its 92-77 win over TNT in Game 6 Sunday night at the SM Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City.
The 6-foot-10 Fajardo finished with monster numbers of 29 points and 23 rebounds, in stamping his masterful performance in front of his former mentor Ramon Fernandez, who watched the Beermen’s title-clinching win from courtside.
SMB successfully retained its All-Filipino crown via a 4-2 Finals series victory.
The Beermen also registered a record-setting 31st league title, and their eighth championship in over the last 11 seasons.
CJ Perez scored 19 points, Rodney Brondial added 15 and 13 boards.
Calvin Oftana led TNT with 28 points, while Jordan Heading 14.
