Kota Kinabalu: The validity of the Federation of Chinese Associations Sabah (FCAS) AGM held on Nov 7, 2021 was the subject of a legal suit by three litigious FCAS ex-exco members using alleged non-compliance to Covid-19 health SOP as grounds to nullify its election of office bearers.

The legal suit against FCAS, the Registrar of Societies Sabah and Director of the Sabah Health Department was dismissed by the High Court here on Aug 26, 2022. The Plaintiffs – Wong Lee Kah @ Lewis, Alex Chee Kim Heng and Wong Tet Yun unsuccessfully sought declarations to nullify the AGM.

Senior Federal Counsel Mohd Hafizi represented the Director of Health Department, Sabah. The Nov 7, 2021 FCAS AGM was attended by 173 delegates at the Hakka Hall.
