Fresh off his dramatic Indianapolis 500 victory, Felix Rosenqvist still believes Álex Palou is the man to beat in the 2026 IndyCar title race.
Rosenqvist secured the biggest win of his career at Indianapolis Motor Speedway, holding off David Malukas in the closest Indy 500 finish ever.
Despite his own recent success, the Meyer Shank Racing driver says Palou’s consistency continues to set him apart from the rest of the field.

Felix Rosenqvist praises Alex Palou’s consistency
Palou has once again emerged as a dominant force in IndyCar this season, regularly contending for wins while avoiding costly mistakes.
Rosenqvist told Marca that his ability to deliver strong results every weekend is what makes the Chip Ganassi Racing driver so difficult to beat.
“Álex is incredibly strong. He practically never has bad days, and that’s his greatest strength,” Rosenqvist said.
While there have been sessions and races where others have managed to get the better of Palou, Rosenqvist says the Spaniard always finds a way to stay in the fight.
“We’ve managed to beat him in some sessions and at certain points in some races, but he’s always there.”
Rosenqvist believes IndyCar field is closing the gap
Even with Palou’s strong form, Rosenqvist feels the rest of the grid is slowly starting to catch up.
The Swede says he personally feels closer to Palou than in years past, though he admits there’s still work to be done.
“I think that, at least as far as I’m concerned, we’re getting closer.”
“But we all have to find something more to beat him.”
Palou’s consistency has become a defining feature of the current IndyCar era – and even after one of the most memorable Indy 500 finishes in history, Rosenqvist still sees Palou as the one everyone else is chasing.
