The Bathinda police have identified and nominated the fifth accused in murder case of social media influencer Kanchan Kumari.
The accused, Shamsher Singh of Jhabal village in Tarn Taran, is currently on the run. Four persons, including key accused Amritpal Singh Mehron, Jaspreet Singh, Nimratjit Singh and Ranjit Singh are already in judicial custody. Further, the police have filed a supplementary challan against Amritpal and Ranjit in the court. Amritpal was extradited from the UAE on April 10.
On June 11, 2025, body of Kanchan was recovered from a car parked outside Adesh University at Bhucho Kalan village.
