Google Cloud is expanding Gemini Enterprise beyond the general workplace with two new industry-focused solutions for financial services and legal teams.

Financial services and legal workflows can now be AI-assisted properly with Google Gemini Enterprise 21

Well, these are called Gemini Enterprise for Financial Services and Gemini Enterprise for Legal (very obvious, I know) are just the first in a planned series of specialized packages designed around the workflows, data and compliance requirements of specific industries.

Both solutions build on the existing Gemini Enterprise platform, combining Google’s AI models with purpose-built agents, specialized skills, data connectors and industry-specific integrations. They also retain the platform’s enterprise security and governance features, with customer data, business rules, intellectual property, agents and model outputs kept within each organization’s private environment.

For financial institutions, the new offering is aimed at speeding up research and analysis while maintaining the traceability and controls expected in a regulated industry.

At the center is a Google-managed Financial Research agent with more than 50 foundational skills, and it can automate research workflows while providing confidence scores, methodologies, data snapshots and source citations, giving analysts a clearer way to verify and audit its output.

The agent can be accessed through the Gemini Enterprise app or connected to other agent workflows through Agent-to-Agent APIs. It can also pull information from enterprise data sources through Model Context Protocol integrations.

Google is also adding specialized financial skills for tasks such as credit risk assessment, portfolio monitoring, market news analysis and investigative research. The platform supports 13 secure integrations with licensed data providers including FactSet, LSEG, Moody’s, MSCI, PitchBook, S&P Global and SEC Edgar.

Financial institutions can also tap third-party agents from Google’s partner ecosystem. These include tools for business verification and KYC compliance, loan document processing, financial analysis, data retrieval and energy and sustainability research.

The financial services solution is already being used by organizations including CME Group and Deutsche Bank, with Google also highlighting BNY, Citi Wealth, Lloyds Banking Group, Macquarie Bank and Signal Iduna among financial institutions using Gemini Enterprise.

For the legal industry, Google is focusing on a different set of challenges. Legal teams need strict confidentiality, ethical walls, data isolation and reliable grounding in authoritative legal sources – requirements that can be difficult to maintain when AI tools are stitched together from multiple standalone services.

Gemini Enterprise for Legal is designed to handle those requirements directly. It includes specialized skills for legal brief drafting, citation verification, contract lifecycle management, regulatory monitoring and data subject access requests.

The platform can also connect with legal systems through MCP integrations, including Docusign, Everlaw, Harvey, iManage, Legora, NetDocuments, RelativityOne, Solve Intelligence and Thomson Reuters. These integrations are designed to allow existing access controls and ethical walls to carry over into AI workflows.

Google says legal research outputs are grounded in primary legal authority rather than relying solely on information contained within model training data. At the same time, client files, internal playbooks, negotiated positions and other organizational information remain inside the firm’s private environment.

The legal offering also comes with a wider partner ecosystem, including legal technology providers, consulting firms and systems integrators such as Accenture, Deloitte, KPMG and Thomson Reuters.

With these launches, Google is positioning Gemini Enterprise less as a general-purpose AI assistant and more as a foundation for industry-specific AI agents that can work directly with the systems and data businesses already depend on, while keeping security, governance and compliance built into the workflow.
