A mamak food stall and storage room near SK Ampang were 80% destroyed in an early morning fire; no casualties reported, fire department says.
KUALA LUMPUR: A food stall and a general goods storage room in front of Sekolah Kebangsaan Ampang here were destroyed in a fire early this morning.
Selangor Fire and Rescue Department operations assistant director Ashrul Riezal Asbar said the department received an emergency call at 3.46 am, and the first fire engine arrived at the scene three minutes later.
He said 18 personnel, along with two fire engines, two water tankers and a van from the Ampang, Pandan Indah, Keramat and Hang Tuah Fire and Rescue Stations, were deployed to the scene.
“The fire involved a mamak food stall and a general goods storage room, which were 80 per cent damaged,” he said in a statement here.
“The fire was brought under control at 4.42 am and completely extinguished at 8.30 am. No casualties were reported in the incident,” he said.
