Fire destroys cattery at Zahid's residence

KAJANG - A cattery in the home of Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi caught fire earlier today (Saturday).

Selangor fire department director Morni Mamat said a team from the Kajang fire and rescue services department (BBP) and Bangi BBP were deployed to the scene after receiving the call at 1.30pm.

"The fire engulfed the cattery located in the two-storey bungalow owned by the deputy prime minister.

"Fire had damaged 15 per cent of the cattery," he said on Saturday.

He said the fire was extinguished and no victims were involved in the incident.

He said the cause of the fire was still under investigation.
