KOTA KINABALU: A fire destroyed several night market stalls outside Wawasan Plaza early Friday morning, but no injuries were reported.
The Fire and Rescue Department said a distress call was received at 5.43am, and a team of 11 firefighters from Kota Kinabalu station arrived on the scene within two minutes.
The blaze involved a 20-by-20-foot tent and goods placed beside the building, which were completely destroyed.
Two Toyota Hiace vans were also damaged by about 50 per cent, while a Maxus V80 sustained minor heat damage.
The fire was brought under control by 6.05am and fully extinguished at 6.48am, with police assisting at the location.
