
MANILA, Philippines — Fire broke out from a commercial building in Manila at noon on Tuesday but put it out about four hours later, authorities said.
along Rizal Avenue corner Gonzalo Puyat Street in Manila on Tuesday was extinguished after authorities raised the incident to the second alarm, the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) said.
In an advisory, the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) said the fire was reported and verified at 12:15 p.m., prompting responding units to immediately proceed to the area.
The incident was simultaneously raised to the first alarm before being escalated to the second alarm at 12:30 p.m.
Firefighters declared the blaze under control at 4:18 p.m. before it was officially declared out at 4:33 p.m.
The establishment houses electrical supplies, automotive parts, and sound system equipment, making the fire a concern in the area, authorities said.
A combined 57 fire trucks and volunteers were at the scene.
Authorities have yet to determine the cause of the fire or release information on possible casualties, injuries, or the extent of property damage.
