
THE fire that hit a commercial establishment at the corner of Rizal Avenue and Gonzalo Puyat Street in Manila on Tuesday was extinguished shortly after firefighters raised the second alarm, the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) said.
In an advisory, the BFP National Capital Region Manila Fire District said the fire was reported and verified at 12:15 p.m., prompting responding fire units to proceed to the area.
Firefighters raised the second alarm at about 12:30 p.m. The fire was declared under control at 4:18 p.m, and deemed fire out at 4:33 p.m.
According to fire authorities, the establishment housed electrical supplies, automotive parts, and sound system equipment, which caused concerns in the area.
According to BFP-NCR, a combined 57 fire trucks and volunteers were at the scene to extinguish the fire.
The BFP NCR said the fire was extinguished through the joint efforts of the Manila Fire District and local volunteer fire brigades.
The fire suppression operation was led by Fire Senior Superintendent Eddie Tanawan, under the supervision of BFP National Capital Region Regional Director Fire Chief Superintendent Roy Roderick Aguto.
Authorities have yet to determine the cause of the fire and provide information on possible casualties, injuries, or the extent of property damage.
