KOTA BELUD: Eight members of a family were left with nothing after the house they were living in was destroyed in a fire at Kampung Rampayan Laut, here, on Friday.

However, despite the fire, which was reported to have started at 1.25am, no injuries or fatalities were reported.

“Upon arrival, the team found that a non-permanent structure was completely destroyed by the fire,” he said.

“The fire spread quickly, but all eight occupants — including two children — escaped without injuries.

“However, personal belongings and important documents could not be saved in time,” he said.

According to Elgie, the fire was brought under control by 2.15am, preventing it from spreading to nearby houses.

“A Perodua Viva car owned by the occupants was also completely destroyed in the fire.

“The operation ended at 3.39am, while the cause of the incident and estimated losses are still under investigation,” he said.
