
Kota Kinabalu: KPJ Sabah’s medic heroes in collaboration with Sabah Parks Trustees donated first aid kits to the Malim Gunung and Laban Rata hostels at Kinabalu Park, recently.
The programme, which was part of its corporate social responsibility, also included a Mount Kinabalu Expedition Programme to promote health tourism among the local and foreign climbers.
The initiative was to equip the guides with basic emergency materials for their daily tasks while climbing Mount Kinabalu. Read more In addition, a health talk was conducted by its resident consultant orthopaedic and a discovering wellness programme, which covered blood pressure check, blood glucose test, body mass index check, and marketing booths for the staff of Kinabalu Park and its stakeholders. The programme aimed to create health awareness among the park’s staff, said Sabah Parks Director Dr Maklarin Lakim when officiated the flagging off at Timpohon Gate.
He expressed hope for continued collaboration between KPJ Sabah and Sabah Parks in future health programmes. Also present were KPJ East Malaysia Regional Chief Executive Officer Asmadi Mohd Bakri and Kinabalu Park Assistant Director Justinus Guntabid,
