FIRST Gen Corp. has partnered with Cebu-based property developer Oakridge Realty Development Corp. (ORDC) for two rooftop solar projects.
First Gen will install a 648-kilowatt-peak (kWp) rooftop solar facility at the recently opened Mantlewood Town Center and a 405-kWp solar power plant at the Oakridge Business Park, both located in Mandaue City.
"On-site solar facilities will not only help ORDC build energy resilience, but also better manage volatility in power costs, which has become a critical concern these days,” said Mark Malabanan, vice president at First Gen Energy Solutions.
A master-planned community with a footprint of approximately 40,000 square meters, Mantlewood Town Center opened its first phase on July 30, 2026, with Robinsons Supermarket and Clinica Prime among its anchor establishments.
“Our transition to renewable energy at Oakridge Business Park was an important step in reducing the environmental impact of our operations,” Oakridge Realty President Anne Liu said.
“The addition of on-site solar allows us to take this commitment further, and extending it to Mantlewood Town Center is part of how we want to develop our properties moving forward,” Liu added.
Oakridge Realty is among the first developers in Cebu to avail itself of the Retail Competition Open Access program, a government initiative that enables qualified consumers to directly contract power producers.
On Thursday, First Gen shares dropped P0.72, or 3.58 percent, to close at P19.38 each.
