A 55-year-old fisherman is missing and feared drowned after falling from his boat near Bagan Datuk, with search operations suspended due to bad weather.

HUTAN MELINTANG: A 55-year-old fisherman is missing and feared drowned after falling from his boat this afternoon.

The incident occurred at Lot 125B (Pelantar 10) in Hutan Melintang, near Bagan Datuk, while the man was reportedly trying to check on his boat’s propeller.

The Bagan Datuk district Civil Defence Force operations control centre received an alert from police about the missing fisherman, Pee Kian Kok, at 4.26 pm.

A team was mobilised to the scene for observation and a control post was established by 6.20 pm.

Members continued to check the location but no full-scale search operation was launched due to heavy rain.

Operations were officially suspended at 7.30 pm and are scheduled to resume at 8 am tomorrow.
