
Army Public School, Yol Cantt in Kangra, conducted a in-house teachers’ training programme for the academic session 2026-27 from May 18 to 22 in accordance with the CBSE guidelines on Continuous Professional Development (CPD). All teachers of the school took part in the five-day programme that focused on strengthening pedagogical practices, professional competencies and technology integration in classrooms.
The programme commenced with an inaugural address by Principal Arjun Singh, who emphasised the importance of innovative teaching methods, learner-centric classrooms and holistic development of students. He highlighted the need to nurture critical thinking, creativity and collaboration among learners in line with the evolving educational landscape.
A series of interactive and enriching sessions were organised during the training programme on themes such as learning outcomes and pedagogy, technology-enabled subject-specific resource creation, interdisciplinary approach and art integration, cyber safety and security, value education, National Curriculum Framework for School Education (NCF-SE) and reflective debriefing sessions.
CBSE resource persons Aditya Sharma and Deepati Sharma conducted the sessions. They shared insights into competency-based education, experiential learning and effective teaching-learning strategies envisioned under the National Education Policy (NEP)-2020 and the CBSE guidelines.
The heads of various departments also gave presentations on subject-specific pedagogical approaches, curricular objectives and innovative instructional methodologies aimed at enhancing academic excellence and classroom engagement.
Faculty members actively participated in collaborative activities, group discussions, presentations and workshops designed to strengthen classroom practices and professional growth. The programme concluded with the principal appreciating the efforts of the resource persons, coordinators and teachers in ensuring the success of the initiative. He encouraged the faculty members to incorporate the learnings and innovative strategies gained during the sessions into everyday teaching practices to create a dynamic, inclusive and future-ready learning environment.
