SIPITANG: Five people were injured in a two-vehicle collision at Kampung Tunggul Tinggi here late Saturday afternoon.
The accident, involving a Toyota Avanza and a Perodua Rusa, occurred around 5.07pm, prompting the District Fire and Rescue team to rush to the scene located about 7km from the fire station.
Three occupants from the Toyota Avanza, who sustained minor injuries, were rescued by passers-by before being taken to Sipitang Hospital for treatment.
Firefighters later freed a 67-year-old man who was trapped inside the Perodua Rusa, while a 51-year-old woman in the same vehicle suffered minor injuries.
The operation, which involved seven firefighters and medical personnel from the Health Ministry, concluded at 6.38pm after clearing debris from the road.
