KOTA KINABALU: A flood disaster was declared in Penampang on Thursday evening following reports from the ground received by the District Disaster Management Committee.
The declaration was made at 7.30pm by Sub-District Officer Noemi Dyena John Tren, who also chairs the committee.
The announcement followed confirmation from local agencies of worsening conditions in the district, prompting an official response to the situation.
