MANILA, Philippines — Manila broke ground its Disaster Risk Reduction Management Office (DRRMO) Flood Monitoring Command Center, a facility aimed at strengthening the city’s disaster preparedness.
Mayor Isko Moreno led the groundbreaking ceremony, when he emphasized that the command center will be crucial in safeguarding the people, especially during severe flooding.
“This facility may save lives with accurate data, timely action, and information. I think we may save lives and property during challenging times,” Moreno said.
