Tuaran: The Fire and Rescue Department helped evacute a family of 12 in Kampung Perumahan Tanjung, Jalan Istana Ayan Tua here to higher ground after their house was flooded on Monday.

No casualty was reported in the incident.

Tuaran District Fire and Rescue Station Chief, Mohammad Nor Amit, said they received the distress call at 9.44pm.

Eleven firemen were deployed on a fire engine and an Emergency Medical Rescue Service (EMRS) utility vehicle.

“The fire brigade helped move all the victims to their relative’s house which is not far from the flood location,” he said.

According to him, the fire department is monitoring the situation at the location and will be taking further action if the flood becomes out of hand.

“The operation ended at 10.30pm,” he said when contacted on Tuesday.
