Tenom: Eighty per cent of the clean water supply here has been disrupted by the flood disaster that struck the district since last Saturday.

Tenom District Officer Mas Syazwan Masood said this was due to the main pipeline from the Senagang Water Treatment Plant (LRA) still being affected by a landslide along the Tenom-Keningau road, near Kampung Tipoh.

In addition, he added, the Tenom Lama Water Treatment Plant could not be operated as it was still submerged.

Mas Syazwan, who is also the Chairman of the District Disaster Management Committee (JPBD), said this made it more difficult to manage flood victims placed at the Temporary Evacuation Centres (PPS).
