IPOH - Police arrested a foreign man suspected of sexually assaulting a woman at the night market in Taman Perpaduan, Tambun here on Tuesday.
Ipoh district police chief Assistant commissioner Yahaya Hassan said the 20-year-old suspect was arrested after receiving a report from the 36-year-old victim.
“The police obtained the remand order for three days until Friday for further investigations under Section 354 of the Penal code for assaulting a person’s dignity.
“The case is solved with his arrest. The police would refer to the deputy public prosecutor for proposed charges” he said in a statement here on Wednesday.
A viral 14 second video recently showed the arrest of the suspect who is believed to be the one sexually assaulting a local woman.
The suspect was arrested by the night market organisers before he was handed over to the police.
