Foreigner killed in accident in Sandakan

SANDAKAN: A 25-year-old non-citizen was killed in a road accident involving two vehicles at Batu 15, Jalan Labuk, on Saturday evening.

According to Sandakan District Police Chief, ACP Ashmon Bajah, the incident occurred at around 5.55 pm when a Proton Saga FLX, travelling from the Mile 16 towards the Mile 14 roundabout, suddenly lost control.

“The vehicle then hit the road divider and overturned before crashing into a motorcycle coming from the opposite direction.

The victim, who was the motorcycle rider, was pronounced dead while receiving treatment at Duchess of Kent Hospital, Sandakan.

The case is being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.
