Every Malaysian also wants to know why 1MDB dropped the suit.
Not only this but also why 1MDB dropped their suits against the,
- former chief financial officer Radhi Mohamad
- former general counsel Jasmine Loo,
- former directors Tan Sri Che Lodin Wok Kamaruddin, Tan Sri Ismee Ismail, Tan Sri Ong Gim Huat and Ashvin Jethanand Valiram,
- former chief financial officer Azmi Tahir.
1MDB is wholly owned by the Minister of Finance (Incorporated), a corporate body under the Malaysian Ministry of Finance.
Because the government guaranteed its massive borrowings and ultimately had to step in to settle its liabilities using public funds, the financial burden directly impacts the public.
Thus, the public has the right to know.
And public interest remains high regarding ongoing domestic court trials, asset tracing, and civil suits aimed at recovering lost billions.
Even though it is a civil suit and not a criminal case, all these people must answer for the abuse of power in assisting and participating in the whole scheme to siphon off tax payers’ monies through 1MDB.
Until today, this government and their predecessors have not revealed the full story of 1MDB to the public.
It is always bits and pieces.
Preceding the fall of the BN government in 2018, many people who are not directly related to 1MDB have been raided, remanded, interrogated and even faced with travel bans when they questioned the shennanigans that were happening in 1MDB.
But not these people.
During this same period, these people reined supreme and were employed and getting paid by 1MDB.
They are not some mid or low level ranked staff in 1MDB.
They are at the top of 1MDB when all the financial improprieties happened at 1MDB.
Aren’t they deemed offenders too?
It is just too convenient to claim that PM6 was the mastermind behind the whole caper.
PM6 can’t possibly be doing everything from A to Z without the help of the top management of 1MDB.
For PMX, a democratic government could not function unless the people were well informed and free to participate in public issues.
And Malaysians need to know since they are burdened with the 1MDB debts for 13 more years, with the final government-guaranteed Islamic notes scheduled to mature in 2039.
