Kota Kinabalu: Former Sabah Tennis Association (STA) president Johnson Koh has published his first book titled ‘Durian Boy to Tennis Great’.

It was officially launched at the Sandakan District Tennis Club during the recent visit of Youth and Sport Minister Hannah Yeoh.

Johnson said on Tuesday that the book, which took him five years to complete, revolves around his early life in Johor as durian boy to his involvement in developing Sabah tennis for the past 45 years.

“I was the one who started the first coaching clinic in Sandakan and I want to contribute to live up to my ‘Free Coaching for Sandakan School Kids’ slogan.

“The proceeds of 100 books will go to Sandakan Tennis Junior Fund. In addition, some of the proceeds will be for tennis and sports-related purposes,” he said.

He added that anyone who contributes or donates RM150 or more to the Sandakan coaching fund would receive a free copy. He will also donate the books to all state libraries in Sabah and selected universities.
