You know how the Chinese always say you need to pick a good day for your wedding? Maybe it’s because after the wedding, you don’t get many good days anymore! Unfortunately for this woman, she didn’t even get that one good day. Instead of walking down the aisle, she was blindsided—left with emotional scars and a major financial loss, as her groom-to-be ran off with the last person she ever expected: her own mother. No wedding, no groom, and no jewelry—just heartbreak.

According to See Hua News, a shocking incident took place in Uttar Pradesh, India, in which the bride-to-be, Shivani's fiancé ran off — with her biological mother! It was said that Shivani was scheduled to marry her fiancé Rahul on April 16. Unfortunately, 10 days before the day, on 6th April 2025, Rahul eloped with her mother Anita, took all the family's money - worth over ₹350,000 (about RM18,000) in cash and jewelry worth more than ₹500,000 (around RM25,000), leaving Shivani and her father devastated.

Shivani recalled that over the past three to four months, her mother frequently spoke on the phone with Rahul. “Whatever he asked for, she would do,” she said. She said she no longer cares about what her mother and ex-fiancé want to do. All she wants is for them to “return the money and jewelry.” Her father, Jitendra, who was also betrayed, admitted he had long sensed something was off. “That man wouldn’t talk to my daughter—he only spoke to my wife. For the past three months, they were talking to each other for 22 hours a day. I was suspicious, but I didn’t say anything because the wedding was so close.”

Jitendra said he tried calling his wife several times, but her phone had been switched off. When he finally reached Rahul, the man initially denied being with Anita. “Hours later, he finally said I had ‘troubled’ my wife for 20 years and it was time to let her go.” After that, both phones were turned off. Jitendra has now filed a missing person report for his wife, and police have vowed to take the necessary steps to locate both Anita and Rahul swiftly. Do you think it's a blessing in disguise?
