KOTA KINABALU: Parti Gagasan Rakyat Sabah's (Gagasan Rakyat) Tanjung Aru Division extended moral support and food aid to the family affected by a house collapse incident at Kampung Tanjung Aru Lama near Masjid Al-Kauthar on Thursday.

The assistance was delivered by the volunteer team led by Dr. Ritchie Jay Cheng, together with the village chief, as a show of solidarity with the victims who sustained injuries and property damage.

Dr. Ritchie said the swift response reflects their commitment to community welfare in line with the Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor’s vision of government and citizens working hand in hand to help those in need.

He expressed sympathy to the victims and thanked the Kota Kinabalu Fire and Rescue Department for their prompt action in rescuing the injured.

According to the Fire and Rescue Department, the wooden stilt house partially collapsed at 8.47am, injuring two men aged 44.

Both were given first aid by the EMRS team before being sent to Queen Elizabeth Hospital for further treatment.

Ritchie said the division will continue to work closely with local leaders and relevant agencies to ensure the safety and welfare of residents in the area.
