MANILA, Philippines — The Galeries Tower Highrisers finished second to the last in the standings of the 2026 Premier Volleyball League (PVL) All-Filipino Conference preliminary round and absorbed a five-game losing skid—but the team bounced back and refused to dwell on the past.
The Highrisers orchestrated a sweep over the Capital 1 Solar Spikers, 25-16, 25-20, 30-28, to advance to the next round of play-in stage on Tuesday at the Filoil EcoOil Centre in San Juan City.
During their first-round clash, Capital 1 prevailed over Galeries in four sets, with Bella Belen putting up a triple-double performance of 23 points, 14 excellent digs, and 15 excellent receptions.
Capital 1 put up a good fight in the third frame with an attempt to extend the match, but Galeries held on tightly to deflect the five-straight points Belen made for a 30-28 victory.
Jean Asis led the scoring for Galeries with 17 points, on 12 attacks, three blocks, and two aces.
The Highrisers will next face Nxled for a chance to move to the next round.
