Dean Holden has been named assistant manager at Al-Ettifaq.

Al-Ettifaq coach Steven Gerrard moved for Holden after losing Ian Foster to Plymouth Argyle.

Holden has had time in charge of Bristol City, Oldham Athletic and Stoke City.

Gerrard signed a new two-year contract extension last month to tie him down until 2027.

The Saudi Pro League resumes on February 15.
