SEN. Bong Go on Monday visited 146 families displaced by a fire in Malate, Manila, despite heavy rains and flooding that rendered roads leading to the affected community nearly impassable.
Go proceeded with the relief activity in Barangay 739, where he met the fire victims inside a tent as rain continued to pour.
His Malasakit Team distributed assistance to the families in coordination with Barangay Captain Jennifer Dato.
“What you will receive today is just a request that you buy food for your family,” Go told the beneficiaries, urging them to prioritize their immediate needs.
He also advised residents to return home or remain in safe areas, following the cancellation of classes and work due to inclement weather.
“I want you to go home. Classes and work are canceled now. I want you to go home, be safe,” Go said, urging residents to heed warnings from barangay officials and evacuate when necessary.
