Good Good Golf and Callaway pull ad that sparked backlash over violence toward women

  • YouTube content creator Good Good Golf and Callaway Golf deleted a promotional video following public backlash over its depiction of violence against women.
  • The advertisement showed personality Garrett Clark knocking down female golfer Alexis Miestowski as she reached for a golf driver.
  • “We posted a video to our channels that ultimately depicted actions that are not aligned with our values as a brand,” Good Good said in a statement. “We have since taken that content down, and sincerely apologize. Good Good has always stood for making the game of golf more inclusive to all, and we will continue to ensure that is our mission moving forward.”
  • Callaway Golf and the PGA Tour both expressed disappointment, reiterating their commitment to non-violence and inclusivity in the sport.
  • The controversy comes ahead of the Good Good Championship in Texas this November, where the creator group is set to serve as title sponsor for the PGA Tour event.
