KOTA KINABALU: The Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS) Government has demonstrated its capability and efficiency in steering Sabah towards impressive achievements over the past five years.

Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor said during the launching ceremony of GRS's election machinery here on Sunday that the Sabah Maju Jaya (SMJ) roadmap laid the foundation for these successes, reflected in record state revenue and strong growth across industrial, tourism and agricultural sectors.

The GRS chairman said the State Government remains committed to addressing essential needs such as water, roads and electricity, with 18 ongoing water projects including the Tawau Dam, Kogopon 2 Water Treatment Plant in Papar and the Kabang intake upgrade expected for completion next year.

Hajiji added that the State has also embarked on key energy initiatives such as the Ulu Padas Hydropower Project in Tenom and the RM765 million Southern Link project to enhance power efficiency across Sabah’s east coast.

He said Sabah’s collaboration with Petronas through the Commercial Collaboration Agreement (CCA) has opened direct participation in the oil and gas sector, ensuring local economic spillover, while dismissing opposition claims of GRS’ failure as baseless political rhetoric.
