Everton great Andy Gray admits he's been impressed by Tom Davies and Mason Holgate.
Gray says the pair have been crucial to Everton picking up a number of points in recent weeks.
He told the Liverpool Echo: "It's wonderful to see, because it's not easy to show character in a team that's struggling, especially for a young player. You normal look to your senior pros to give you guidance.
"It's sometimes difficult for a youngster to go and express himself on a football pitch, particularly in a team not playing with a great deal of confidence, we I don't think we have in the opening months of the season.
"It's good to see at the minute. Tom's always been what he is, he's what you see and I don't think he's any different.
"I think that's his personality, that's the way he plays his football. I think it seems to me we're just searching for a balance in the team.
"If we can find that and get a bit of stability around who's playing every week, it will help us enormously."
