
Kota Kinabalu: A man was sentenced to five years' jail and ordered to get a stroke of the cane for taking Syabu repeatedly.
Mohammad Ali Kaimah pleaded guilty before Sessions Court Judge Azreena Aziz, to the charge against him.
He was found taking the drug on May 10, 2022 after his urine was tested positive for drug at the police station here.
Mohammad has several conviction records for taking the drug.

After serving the jail sentence, the court ordered Mohammad to be placed under police supervision for two years.
In another case, two illegal immigrants were jailed four months each for entering the State illegally. Muhaimin Abdul and Haiman Syazwani Usin admitted separately to the charge against them.
They were arrested in Beaufort and the city area respectively on July 31 and Aug 10 this year after failing to produce their identification documents to the police.
The court ordered the illegal immigrants to serve the jail sentence from the date of their arrests.
They were also ordered to be referred to the Immigration Department after serving the jail sentence for their biometric data to be recorded before deportation.
