Kota Kinabalu: Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor has announced two new initiatives to strengthen youth development programmes in Sabah.
The initiatives — the Sabah Youth Action Council and the Chief Minister’s Young Thinkers — will be implemented jointly by the State Youth and Sports Ministry and the Sabah Youth Council.
He said the council will act as an implementing body responsible for inclusive and coordinated youth development, while the Young Thinkers platform will allow youth to share ideas and aspirations directly with the state government.
Speaking at the Tamu Suara 360: Aspirasi Anak Muda Sabah 2025 programme at the Sabah International Convention Centre, he said the state will continue to enhance opportunities for young people to develop their potential.
Hajiji added that over the past four years, the State Government has spent RM1.3 billion on human capital and education development, including scholarships and the Sabah Education Fund that has supported more than 10,000 students.
