Hajiji wins Sulaman seat for ninth consecutive term

Sabah CM Hajiji Noor retains Sulaman with 8,919-vote majority, securing his ninth victory in the 17th state election.

KOTA KINABALU: Sabah Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor has retained the Sulaman seat for the ninth time in the 17th Sabah State Election.

According to official results from the Election Commission (EC), the Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS) chairman polled 10,639 votes to win with a majority of 8,919 votes in a five-cornered contest.

Hajiji defeated four other candidates — Dr Shahnon Rizal Thaijuddin of Barisan Nasional (BN); Mokhtar Hussin (Parti Warisan); Tiaminah @ Siti Aminah Ele (Perikatan Nasional); and Pajudin Nordin (Parti Impian Sabah). 

In the 2020 state election, Hajiji won with a majority of 3,099 votes. – Bernama
