Hakim Danish Ramli’s British GP ended early after a fifth-lap crash at Silverstone dashed the Malaysian Moto3 rider’s podium hopes

KUALA LUMPUR: The country’s sensational Moto3 rider, Muhammad Hakim Danish Ramli, was forced to end his race early after being involved in an accident at the British Grand Prix, yesterday.

The action, which took place at the Silverstone Circuit, saw the 19-year-old rider start the race from the ninth grid position but was involved in an accident on the fifth lap that also involved Spanish rider Adrian Cruces.

Hakim Danish, representing AEON Credit – MT Helmets – MSi, was forced to swerve away from the circuit in an effort to avoid hitting Cruces, who had fallen after being struck from behind by another rider’s motorcycle.

The incident effectively dashed Hakim Danish’s hopes of finishing on the podium at the British GP.

Liqui Moly Dynavolt Intact GP rider David Almansa emerged as the champion of the 15-lap race with a time of 32 minutes and 45.26 seconds, followed by Red Bull KTM Ajo rider Alvaro Carpe in second place, 0.701 seconds behind, while his teammate Valentin Perrone completed the podium in third place with a difference of 0.991 seconds.

Hakim Danish is scheduled to return to action at the Aragon GP on August 30.
