
Kota Kinabalu: Former Chief Minister Tan Sri Harris Mohd. Salleh paid tribute to the late Datuk Seri Panglima Haji Kadir Mohamad Mastan (pic), the former Forestry Director who passed away on Aug. 27 at age 91.
Extending his condolences to the family, he noted that as Chief Conservator of Forest during the Berjaya Government, Kadir was responsible for raising Timber Royalty the highest in the world resulting in yearly collection reaching over RM1 billion from only just a few hundred million previously.
“The late Kadir was a very straight forward and honest civil servant. He was highly respected by his officers and by politicians. May he be bestowed the highest esteem by Allah,” he said.
