
A special awareness programme on child rights laws and environmental conservation was organised for NCC cadets on the eighth day of the 10-day Annual Training Camp of 14 Haryana Battalion NCC, Yamunanagar, being held at Saraswati Vidya Mandir, Jagadhri.
Dr DN Bhardwaj, District and Sessions Judge, Yamunanagar, attended the programme and addressed the cadets.
He stressed the importance of legal awareness among young people and encouraged the cadets to become responsible citizens and ambassadors of social awareness in their communities.
Among those present were Indu Bala, Chief Judicial Magistrate, Yamunanagar; Sumitra Kadian, Chief Judicial Magistrate-cum-Secretary, District Legal Services Authority, Yamunanagar; Sanjay Kamboj, Legal Literacy In-charge from the DEO office; and Dr (Major) Harinder Singh Kang, Principal and Associate NCC Officer (Retired), Guru Nanak Khalsa College, Yamunanagar.
The programme was conducted by panel advocate Virender Pal Singh Sidhu, who informed the cadets about child protection laws, children’’s rights, cyber safety, legal safeguards available to minors, and the responsibilities of young citizens. He urged the cadets to remain aware of their legal rights and contribute towards creating a safe and just environment for all children. More than 500 NCC cadets from various schools and colleges attended the programme.
