Himachal Pradesh is likely to experience extensive heatwave conditions on May 27, with the Meteorological Centre issuing a yellow weather warning for eight districts of the state. The alert has been issued for Shimla, Solan, Mandi, Kangra, Una, Bilaspur, Hamirpur and Sirmaur districts, where heatwave conditions are expected at isolated places.
The weather office has also sounded a similar yellow alert for several districts on May 28. According to the department, both maximum and minimum temperatures across the state are likely to rise by 2°C to 5°C over the next two days. However, a significant change in weather is expected from May 28 onwards, when many parts of the state are likely to witness heavy rain and hailstorm activity, leading to a fall in temperatures by 2°C to 6°C.
During the past 24 hours, the weather remained mostly dry across the state, though a few places recorded very light rainfall. Minimum temperatures remained close to normal and ranged between 3°C and 25°C, while maximum temperatures stayed 2°C to 4°C above normal, ranging between 14°C and 42°C.
Una was the hottest place in the state with a maximum temperature of 42.6°C.
