Traffic is moving slowly on a key Kelantan highway as travellers head back to work after the Aidilfitri holidays, with delays of over three hours reported

GUA MUSANG: Heavy traffic is causing significant delays along a 20-kilometre stretch of Jalan Kuala Krai-Gua Musang. The congestion stretches from the Rantau Manis Rest and Service Area towards Gua Musang town.

Gua Musang district police chief Supt Sik Choon Foo said the increase in vehicles is due to travellers returning to the federal capital after the Aidilfitri celebrations. He advised road users to remain patient and exercise tolerance to ensure a smooth and safe traffic flow.

“The public is also advised to plan their journeys and drive carefully to prevent accidents that could worsen congestion,” he said when contacted.

A Bernama check confirmed slow-moving traffic on several main routes from Kuala Krai to Gua Musang as of 3 pm. Delays were observed near areas like the Kesedar Paloh Land Development Plan.

One traveller, Mohd Firdaus Nur Ahmad, 37, reported his journey from Kuala Krai to Gua Musang took over three hours. He said he had to take a break at the Gua Musang R&R stop before continuing his journey back to the federal capital for work.
