The announcement was made alongside the launch of the facelifted 2026 Honda City.
HONDA MALAYSIA has introduced an extended warranty programme of up to eight years with unlimited mileage for all newly purchased petrol and hybrid models, effective from 1 September 2026.
The announcement was made alongside the launch of the facelifted 2026 Honda City, and expands on Honda Malaysia’s existing five-year unlimited-mileage warranty coverage.
Honda Malaysia says the expanded warranty coverage forms part of its efforts to improve the ownership experience and provide greater long-term assurance to customers.
However, the new eight-year coverage is not simply an extension of the standard vehicle warranty in its entirety.
Honda’s latest price list states that buyers continue to receive a five-year unlimited-mileage standard warranty, while an additional three-year service-activated warranty applies from the sixth to eighth year and covers the engine and transmission, subject to terms and conditions.
In other words, eligible customers can receive up to eight years of unlimited-mileage coverage for the engine and transmission, provided the requirements of the service-activated warranty are met.
Honda Malaysia has not detailed the full eligibility requirements for the extended coverage in the City launch material, beyond stating that terms and conditions apply.
The company is also retaining its complimentary labour service programme, which provides free labour for up to five scheduled services within five years or 100,000 km, whichever comes first.
For Honda hybrid models, the extended vehicle warranty sits alongside the company’s enhanced hybrid warranty introduced earlier this year.
Eligible hybrid models receive a 10-year unlimited-mileage warranty covering the high-voltage battery and selected hybrid components, subject to Honda Malaysia’s warranty terms and conditions.
