Hoshiarpur registered an impressive six-wicket victory over Fatehgarh Sahib in the Punjab Cricket Association’s Boys’ Under-19 Inter-District Cricket Tournament. The win earned Hoshiarpur five valuable points in the two-day match.

According to HDCA secretary Dr Raman Ghai, Fatehgarh Sahib won the toss and elected to bat first, posting 139 runs in their first innings. Mayank Yadav scored 24 while Samarpreet contributed 23 runs. For Hoshiarpur, vice-captain Harshit Nanda starred with the ball, claiming five wickets, while captain Aryan Arora and Chirag Kumar took three and two wickets respectively.

Hoshiarpur were bowled out for 104 runs, conceding a first-innings lead of 35 runs. Pragyan Sharma scored 23, Siddarth Rana 22, Arsh Chauhan 18 and Prithvi Singh 12. Hoshiarpur bounced back strongly in the second innings, restricting Fatehgarh Sahib to 111 runs. Aryan Sharma top-scored with 36, while Sarvangun added 18 runs. Chirag Kumar led the bowling attack with five wickets, while Harshit Nanda picked up three. Aryan Arora and Krishna Walia claimed one wicket each.

Chasing a target of 147 runs, Hoshiarpur achieved victory comfortably, scoring 149 for 4 in 32.2 overs. Sahil Salhotra remained unbeaten on 65, Pragyan Sharma scored 35, and Prithvi Singh contributed an unbeaten 17 runs. HDCA president Dr Daljit Khela congratulated the team on its outstanding performance. Several association officials, including Vivek Sahni, Jatinder Sood, Dr Pankaj Shiv, Thakur Yograj and Subhash Sharma, also extended their congratulations to the players.
