Seven Class XII students in Fatehgarh Sahib district secured a place in the state merit list as the Punjab School Education Board (PSEB) declared results on Wednesday.

Six of them were girls. Five of the students were from government schools and two from private ones. Four of them were from the science stream.

According to the district education authorities, 5,414 students had appeared for the Class XII examinations this year, of whom 4,881 were declared successful, taking the district’s pass percentage to 90.16. Last year, the district had recorded a pass percentage of 90.04

Jaskirat Kaur of Government Senior Secondary School, Charnarthal Kalan, emerged as the district topper by securing 98.4 per cent marks and stood ninth in the state. Ishpreet Kaur of the School of Eminence, Amloh, secured 98 per cent marks to bag the 11th rank in the state and secondin the district.

Amrita of Government Senior Secondary Girls School, Amloh, secured 97.8 per cent marks and stood 12th in the state while securing the third position in the district. Simranjit Kaur of GTB Public Senior Secondary School, Railon, and Amandeep Kaur of the School of Eminence, Amloh, secured 97.4 per cent marks each and shared the 14th rank in the state merit list.

Sukhmanpreet Kaur of Shri Guru Amar Dass Khalsa Public School, Bhamian, secured 97 per cent marks and stood 16th in Punjab, while Navraj Singh of Government Senior Secondary School, Charnarthal Kalan, secured 96.8 per cent marks to bag the 17th rank.
